Born in Chattanooga, Tenn. on June 2, 1950 to the wonderful parents, Mr. & Mrs. John Henry (Lenora) Walker Sr. The youngest of five children, was educated in the Chattanooga public school system and graduated from Howard High School, class of 68.At an early age I joined the Greater New Home Missionary Baptist Church in Chattanooga under the Pastorate of the Rev. B.W. Paige, attending and participating in various auxiliaries until leaving for college. I attended Morris Brown College in Atlanta, Georgia on an athletic scholarship and graduated with a BA Degree in the class of 72. Gained employed with the Metropolitan Atlanta Rapid Transit Authority, MARTA, as a transit operator, and retired after 32 years of service in January 2004.
I met LaGail Octavia Williams
in 1980 and after a short courtship; we were married on September 5, 1980. After meeting LaGail, who was instrumental in my salvation and introduction to the way of Holiness, joined the Move of God Church under Pastor Edward Harris. On May 19, 1986 LaGail and I became the proud parents of son, Anthony Jarrod Walker, who developed into a gifted drummer. Under the ministry of Pastor Harris, I was born again in November of 1980 and later received the baptism of the Holy Ghost with the Scriptural evidence of speaking with other tongues as the Spirit gives the utterance. In 1983, at the age of 33, I was called into the Gospel Ministry and served under the leadership of one of God’s finest pastors, my mentor and spiritual father, The Rev. Edward Harris. Being licensed and ordained, I served in all areas of ministry as an associate minister, at the Move of God Church under founders and Pastors Edward and Frances Harris. I also received valuable training in Missionary work; in outreach, street ministry, sick and shut-in visitation, Prison Ministry and Open Air services with the Wheels for Jesus under Sister Leila Jones, a dedicated Missionary, leader, and an anointed saint of God, and succeeded her as Missionary leader at the Move of God Church.
On October 21, 2008 I received a Divine Mandate from the Lord, “To go forth and build Him a Church”. After much prayer, fasting and confirmations, LaGail and I were released from the Move of God Church with the laying on of hands and prayer, on January 4, 2009 to begin the pioneering effort to build the Lord a church. On February 3, 2009, Kingdom Of Christ Church Ministries Inc. was birthed into existence by the Lord and we began Tuesday Prayer and Bible Study in our home in Austell, Georgia, as we were guided by the Holy Ghost.
As attendance grew and the Lord added members, there was a need for more space. The Lord provided!
In December 2009, we moved services into the Family Life Restoration Center building located at 6105 Mableton Parkway in Mableton Georgia, where we presently hold services. As the Kingdom of Christ Church Ministries/ KCCM grow as the Lord adds to His church, we are experiencing great outpourings of the Holy Ghost and the presence and glory of God fills the sanctuary. It is not church “as usual”, but as the Spirit of the living God directs. It is truly the Lord’s doing and it is marvelous in our sight. Kingdom Of Christ Church Ministries is a place of restoration and deliverance, where people are being saved, healed and delivered by the power of God, and is walking in the newness of life in Christ Jesus. Believers are being matured into the full image and stature of Jesus Christ and prepared for ministry, and going forth to fulfill the great commission Christ gave to His church. We are determined to do the works of Christ! As my mentor, Rev. Edward Harris has gone on to be with the Lord, I am tremendously blessed to have as my spiritual father, the Apostle Philip Imler of Youngstown Ohio. The Lord has so graciously joined us in the Father-Son relationship, and blessed him to be a dear friend and counselor. I’m so grateful to God for having such an anointed and wise man of God as a spiritual father. He is truly a God-given father in the Lord. As we continue to follow the leading of the Holy Ghost and glorify Jesus Christ in our personal lives and in this ministry, we know “That the Best is yet to come!”
